A little something for everyone
Vocally, Melissa comes from a combination jazz, blues and fusion background as well as singing pop, rock and metal, resulting in a diverse range of influences and styles that have combined to create her powerful vocal style with a soulful touch and a true connection to the lyrics, no matter the topic. Since embarking on a songwriting retreat with her favorite band, Blue October, in August of 2023, her connection to the powerful and meaningful lyrics of our music has created a performance not normally seen on smaller stages.
Instrumentally, Brian has played anything from praise bands to an Iron Maiden tribute. Having been a guitar instructor for many students, he enjoys playing pop, rock, blues and metal. He also plays keyboards, bass, brass and string instruments as needed to fill out the sounds on recordings and for backing tracks. With a solid musical education background, performing to backing tracks is almost second nature.
On drums, John earned the nickname "Johnny Thunder" at the recording studio in Texas. Not only was the performance powerful, but he was able to knock out the songs in one take, sticking to the click track with ease and performing with nuance and feeling to create dynamics throughout the sessions. His musicianship comes through in the recorded tracks and during live performances making the songs come to life and stand out from the crowd of drummers that don't know the meaning of dynamics.
